Most of the cars that come into Hinterland Smash Repairs did not need a tow truck. Someone reversed into a post, a trolley kissed a door, or a tight car park left a crease in the bumper. The repair is smaller than a major collision. The standard is not.
Typical minor repairs
- Bumper scuffs and splits that can be repaired rather than ignored.
- Scratches where the paint has broken through.
- Small dents in doors, guards and bonnets.
- Touch-ups after a light knock, including blend into the next panel when that is what makes the repair disappear.
- Hail marks on a panel, when a full paint repair is the right fix.
Private quote or a claim
A minor repair is often under the excess, which makes a private quote the straightforward path. Use the quote form, choose minor accident repair, and attach photos. If you would rather claim, we also do insurance smash repairs when your policy lets you nominate the workshop.
What the photos should show
Take one wide photo so we can see which corner of the car, and one close photo of the broken paint or the dent. Daylight is better than a car-park fluorescent. If more than one panel is hurt, photograph each of them. That is usually enough for us to tell you whether it is a touch-up or a bigger repair before you drive across the Gold Coast.
If the hit has creased several panels, popped a light, or pushed a wheel, treat it as a major accident repair and say so. We would rather see the photos than have you guess.
Questions
Is a small scrape worth repairing?
If the paint is broken, bare metal or plastic can mark, stain or start to corrode. Send photos and we will tell you whether it is a touch-up, a bumper repair, or a larger job.
Will a small panel repair show?
The aim is a finish that blends into the surrounding paint. Panels are prepared and painted in the Nerang spray booth, then checked before the car is returned.
Should a minor accident go through insurance?
